Form: [was/were + present participle]

Use

- Use the Past Continuous to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted.

Ex: I was watching TV when she called.

- Actions in the past that take place at a particular time.

Ex: What were you doing last evening at 8:45?

- When you use the Past Continuous with two actions in the same sentence.

Ex: I was studying while he was making dinner.

Forms

Afirmative: I was singing, We were singing.

Negative: I wasn’t singing, We weren’t singing.

Interrogative: Was I singing?, Were We singing?
